France Gelinas was joined by pharmacists and seniors advocates at the Bradley Pharmacy recently as she puts the call out to the provincial government to stop the changes to the Ontario Drug Benefit plan.

Nickel Belt’s MPP says seniors making over 19 thousand dollars a year will see an increase to their prescription drugs which could effect the health of the aging population.

The provincial government recently opened up a one month consultation process to look over the plan and Premier Kathleen Wynne says if they made a mistake they will make the change.

In the budget, most seniors would see annual deductibles for subsidized prescription drugs jump to 170 dollars from 100 dollars in August.

Gelinas encourages seniors who could be affected to contact her so she can bring the stories to Queen’s Park.
