Today is International Women’s Day which is a public holiday in some countries, including Cambodia.

Celebrations took place across Canada including a number here in Sudbury like the International Women’s Day breakfast put on by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce.

One of the panelists, Architect and Partner at YBSA Amber Salach, says women should strive for a position because they want it.

Jody Kuzenko, Director of Refining at Vale hopes those in attendance came away inspired, thinking women in non-traditional workplaces can do it, find a balance and women can have it all.

Kuzenko also says to find your passion, and don’t think of it as a man’s job or women’s job, just get busy doing it.

Mobile Maintenance General Foreman at Fraser Mine, Jessica Taylor says two components are key for women, education and confidence.

March 8th has been dedicated to celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women since 1911.
