Sun Safety
By Stew Kernan
Sun safety was top of mind at the James Jerome Complex Tuesday morning.

The City of Greater Sudbury was chosen over 94 other communities in Ontario as the grand prize winner in the Melanoma Network of Canada’s “Screen Me Youth Sun Aware Camp Program”.

Melanoma Network Executive Director Deb Greenfield says it’s a proven fact….staying out of the sun can save your life.

For winning the contest, a 20 by 20 sun-shade structure, valued at $22,000, has been installed at the James Jerome Complex to be enjoyed by the 130,000 players and spectators who use the park each year along with the more than 2,200 kids who attend the city’s various day camps.
