A burlesque dancer from Seattle named Maggie McMuffin says that JetBlue recently stopped her from boarding a plane because she was wearing short shorts. McMuffin tells KIRO 7 that she didn’t have any other clothes with her and had to buy a pair of XL sleep trunks at the Boston airport in order to take her flight home. “I felt very disrespected,” she says. JetBlue has responded by refunding her the $22 for the sleep trunks and given her a $200 credit for a future flight. However, it says it stands by its decision. “The gate and on board crew discussed the customer’s clothing and determined that the burlesque shorts may offend other families on the flight,” it said in a statement. “While the customer was not denied boarding, the crew members politely asked if she could change.”
