Despite the rain last night, there remains a number of active forest fires in the area.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the largest fire is Sudbury 35 just north of Hagar currently listed at about 85 hectares in size.

Along with firefighters on the ground, water bombers are being used.

Also of note is Sudbury 33 in the Lively area which is currently about 10 hectares in size.

The forest fire hazard in the Greater Sudbury area is listed as extreme.
