The Sudbury and District Health Unit has confirmed there is blue-green algae in Ramsey Lake, Lake Wanapitei and Hannah Lake.

Blue green algae blooms have a pea soup appearance with a foul smell and are not anchored down so they can move around to different parts of the lake.

If a bloom is present residents should stay out of the water and not use it for drinking, bathing and boiling the water may release more toxins.

Signs remain in most Bell Park beaches and the health unit will notify the public when they will be removed.
