Another step forward for the four-laning of Highway 69.

Sudbury M-P-P Glenn Thibeault says a new 11-kilometre stretch of roadway will open next week which will mean four lane highway will exist from Sudbury almost all the way to the French River.

That leaves 70 kilometers to be completed with 14 kilometers of that currently under construction.

The new 11 kilometer stretch was completed for $66-million with $770-million spent so far.

The total cost of the project….2-billion dollars.

Thibeault says the project is on budget and on track to be completed by 2021.
