A 52-year old man from out of province spent the night in jail after an incident downtown last night.

A police officer was forced to take evasive action on Van Horne street shortly after 8 o’clock when a vehicle crossed the centre line and was driving right at the cruiser.

After a quick U-turn by the officer, the suspect was arrested and taken to headquarters where breath samples were twice the legal limit.

Charges include dangerous driving and impaired driving.
