Canadian Blood Services is looking to the community to increase the number of blood donors heading into the Labour Day weekend.

C-B-S is hoping to fill 500 appointments at the Sudbury Clinic between now and September 5th….with 32,000 units needed nation wide.

Territory Manager Joanne Drake says the need for O-negative blood donations is critical…but all types are needed.

You can make an appointment by calling 1-triple-8 2-DONATE or you can book on-line at blood.ca.

A car crash victim could require up to 50 units of blood while someone with cancer may need 5 to 8 units of blood per week.
