Canada doesn’t have a national bird, despite having the maple as our national tree and the beaver and the Canadian horse as our national animals.

Last year, Canadian Geographic magazine launched a national contest to find a bird that could represent Canadians & will announce the winning bird in December 2016

 Online voting will be used in part to determine Canadian Geographic’s winning bird, but they’re also getting bird experts to vote for the final pick.
