Veteran CBC News anchor Peter Mansbridge is retiring as anchor of The National.

The 68 year old anchor and chief correspondent will be stepping down after July 1st 2017, once he covers Canada Day – marking the country’s 150th birthday.

“It’s been an amazing time to report our history, but I’ve decided that this year will be my last one,” Mansbridge told viewers Monday night.

“As someone who believes strongly in public broadcasting, leaving the CBC’s flagship will not be easy. But what’s important is that The Nationalof the future will continue to reflect our world, our country and our people.”

Sunday marked the 10 year anniversary of Steve Irwin’s death, and his only daughter is remembering the most important man in her life.

On social media, Bindi Irwin shared a photo of herself as a baby with her dad, with the caption: “You’ll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe.”

18 year old Bindi was just 8-years-old back in 2006, when her “Crocodile Hunter” father was killed by a massive stingray while shooting a documentary called, “Ocean’s Deadliest”

Steve Irwin was 44 years old.

Back in 2014, Bindi told People magazine:

“I remember after we lost Dad, so many adults came up to me and said, ‘Honey, time heals all wounds. That is the biggest lie you will ever hear. It doesn’t.”

Holiday’s husband, New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday is taking indefinite leave from the NBA to care for his wife and unborn child.

“My family comes before basketball. I’m obviously blessed to play this game and be in the position I am in, but my wife is the most important thing in the world to me. She comes before anything else.”

28 year old Lauren is reportedly set to undergo brain surgery to remove the benign, yet operable brain tumor just weeks after she will give birth to their first child. Doctors say the tumor is unlikely to threaten the health of the couple’s unborn daughter and Lauren is expected to make a full recovery.

Jacob Wetterlings’ remains were discovered 27 years after he went missing. In October of 1989, Jacob was 11 years old when he was kidnapped at gunpoint by a masked man near his home in St. Joseph, Minnesota.

Reports say the person of interest in the case, Danny Heinrich, told police where they could find Wetterling’s body.

At this year’s MTV VMAs, Beyonce left hubby Jay Z at home and brought her adorable daughter Blue Ivy as her date, instead.

The mommy-daughter-duo looked ADORABLE in their neutral toned, feathered, sparkly gowns. Turns out, grown adults decided to go on social media and slam the 4-year-old’s appearance. Smh.
