Lively District Secondary School

The community is invited out for an information night at Lively District Secondary School tonight.

A decline of almost four million dollars in province funding has led to the Rainbow District School Board to consider consolidating schools in six areas.

The Lively District Secondary School is one of the schools that could be closed down as early as next September and parent Kerrie St. Jean says even though it’s a tough decision, there may be other options.

St. Jean says one of the biggest issues will revolve around transportation for students.

Students in grades 9-12 at Lively could be sent to either Lockerby Composite School or Sudbury Secondary School.

The information night goes at 7 pm in the gymnasium of Lively District Secondary School.
