Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of “Blue’s Clues”. Blue, the cartoon dog and her best buddy Steve starred in the Nickelodeon kid’s TV show up until 2002. Other memorable characters include Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, their daughter Paprika. How about Shovel and Pail?

Ever wonder where Steve Burns is today? Well, he didn’t die – despite many hoaxes claiming he did over the years.

In fact, Steve went on national television to set the record straight that he was alive and well and had not died of a heroin overdose.

The truth is, Steve left the show and left it to his younger brother so he could follow his dream to pursue a career in music. Not long after his last episode on “Blue’s Clues”, Steve released an album called “Songs for Dustmites” and went on to work with artists like The Flaming Lips. In 2009 he released his 2nd album.

Now 42, the entertainer has been acting in indie films, living in Brooklyn and building a strong social media presence online.

He once said: “I don’t think [being on the show] has caused any sort of credibility deficit. I think it’s an amazing children’s television show…I’m incredibly proud to have been even involved in it. I think coming from kids TV, it just makes the story more interesting.”

Katy Perry surprised a survivor of the Orlando nightclub shooting on today’s episode of Ellen–not just by showing up unannounced, but by offering to pay for his first year of film school.

After Perry came out and met Tony Marrero, who told Ellen that Perry’s song “Rise” helped him recover from the four bullet wounds he sustained in the massacre, Perry told him that she’d heard he was interested in attending film school. “I personally want to pay for your first your at film school,” Perry said. Not surprisingly, the emotional moment caused Marrero, who also lost his best friend in the shooting, to break down in tears.
