Last winter brought large amounts of snow for the city, which in turn brought a deficit financially.

Staff say the city stands to have a budget deficit of 2.1 million dollars and of that 1.8 million was because of winter maintenance.

Acting Chief Administrative Officer, Ed Standiewicz says in this case the winter control reserve could act as a stabilization fund.

Ward 7 Councillor Mike Jakubo says this is something that is totally out of our control.

Meaning 1.8 million dollars could be taken out of the fund that currently sits at 3.3 million.

That would leave the projected deficit at 300 thousand dollars.
