It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the Greater Sudbury Police Tactical Unit.

For Halloween, officers dressed as super heroes and repelled down from the roof of Health Sciences North to surprise patients on the pediatric unit and neonatal intensive care unit.

The event was called Superheroes for Little Heroes.

Sergeant Daryl Adams aka Batman, says it was all about the kids and such a fun day to be a part of.

One officer dressed as Spider-Man repelled from the very top of the building face first as the crowds cheered him on.

Adams says they got the idea from window washers in the United States who did the same.

Superheroes for Little Heroes raised 53 thousand dollars for NEO Kids thanks to the community, Greater Sudbury Utilities and an anonymous donor who matched donations up to 25 thousand dollars.

Board Chair of NEO Kids Foundation, Mick Weaver says that will all go towards the proposed expansion of NEO Kids.
