The NDP are calling on Elections Ontario to investigate Glenn Thibeault’s role in the by-election scandal.

Premier Kathleen Wynne’s former deputy chief of staff Pat Sobara is reportedly facing an allegation she made an offer to the now-energy minister and Sudbury MPP.

It’s alleged that between November 19th 2014 and February 6th 2015 Sorbara offered an inducement to Thibeault to run for the provincial Liberals.

Thibeault’s lawyer issued a statement saying no such inducement was made or accepted.

He goes on to say Glenn Thibeault left his position with the NDP to serve Sudbury constituents more effectively than federal politics permitted…not because of a inducement.

Both Sorbara and Gerry Lougheed Junior who was also charged will be in Sudbury court on November 21st.
