After four months on the downward trend, Sudbury’s unemployment rate went up slightly last month.

According to Stats Canada, the jobless rate in Sudbury was 7.4 per cent, up from 7.3 per cent in September.

That’s higher than Thunder Bay, Toronto, Montreal and is one of the highest among major cities in Canada.

It is however down from 8.7 per cent in May.

Nationally the unemployment rate remained at 7 per cent despite over 40 thousand net jobs added to the economy
