Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited will be the new operator of OLG Slots at Sudbury Downs.

In a release the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said Gateway would be the service provider for the North and Southwest Gaming bundles, which is nine casinos.

They say the move will take a significant step forward in OLG’s modernization.

Gateway will take over in Spring 2017 and they have been approved to build two new casinos, one in Kenora and one in North Bay.

We spoke with OLG spokesperson, Tony Bitonti and he says when Gateway gets the keys in the Spring they will do a review of all the sites they take over.

They will have the ability to expand, relocate or renovate any site, but it would have to be approved by the municipality, OLG and the province.
