During December’s Festive R.I.D.E. Program, Greater Sudbury Police stopped 3,708 vehicles and charged seven people with impaired driving.

The R.I.D.E. checks were set up in various locations in the city, both day and night to reduce drinking and driving during the holiday season.

While on general patrol officers charged an additional 16 people with impaired driving offences.

Those combined numbers made for the highest number of impaired charges handed out in a single month in 2016.
