It will be more than just a fundraiser at the new Kivi Park on March 5th, when the second annual Trek For Cancer snowshoe fun run takes place.

There will be 1, 3, 5.5 and 7km snowshoe routes along with a sugarbush, skating, sliding, face paint, lunch, a bonfire and of course hot chocolate.

The money raised goes to the Northern Cancer Foundation, and Executive Director Tannys Laughren says to bring your own snowshoes, but there are some for rent.

Laughren says this event is a perfect example of what they are trying to do with their fundraisers, make it enjoyable for the entire family while encourage people to get active and healthy.

Registration is 35 dollars and kids 12 and under can take part for free.
