Science North’s newest exhibit takes a look at how inventions shaped the world into what it is today.

101 Inventions That Changed The World is on loan from an American based Grande Exhibitions.

Senior Scientist Nancy Somers says some of the greatest inventions were created by accident, and some by great Canadians.

Canadians inventied insulin, the garbage bag and yes the selfie stick.

And CEO Guy Labine wants to celebrate those as it’s Canada’s and Ontario’s 150th birthday.

He says it’s also about celebrating mining innovations and inventions in Northern Ontario.

Somers says she hopes it inspires a new generation of inventors.

101 Inventions That Changed The World will be on display until September.
