It’s the first time in Canadian history that two people who have never been in a romantic relationship have been legally recognized as parents.

Natasha Bakht and Lynda Collins are co-parents to Natasha’s disabled son Elaan. Of course we had to ask Lynda…how & why did this happen?

So why make it legal? Well Lynda says it allows her to make medical decisions for Elaan if Natasha is out of town, she can talk to his teachers and now she and Natasha can combine their insurance benefits which Elaan definitely needs.

Both Natasha and Lynda’s parents are very supportive but what about new relationships? How do you explain your situation to a date?
