Fire Claims Life Of 59-Year Old Woman

The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office and members of the Greater Sudbury Police remain on the scene of an early morning fire that claimed the life of an 59-year old woman.

The blaze broke out before 6 am at a two storey apartment building on Matthew Street, off the Kingsway, firefighters, police and EMS personnel all responded to the scene.

Officers say the deceased was a resident of the building.

Damages are estimated at 100 thousand dollars and foul play is not suspected.
