The Sudbury Wolves 2016/17 came to an end with a 3-1 loss to the Oshawa Generals.

The Wolves gave the Generals good run losing the series 4-2, making the Wolves the sixth team eliminated from the OHL playoffs.

Dmitry Sokolov scored the lone goal for the Wolves, his sixth of the postseason.

Head Coach Dave Matsos says it was an amazing run, but frustrating because bounces were not going the way of Sudbury.

Matsos says the Generals are a club that has figured out how to win in the past and they’re starting to figure out how to win.

It was the end of the season for the Wolves but also the end of the junior career for C.J. Yakimowicz, Aiden Jamieson and Patrick Sanvido who was emotional after the game.

Matsos says the series gave the young players some valuable experience going into next year.

The Generals now face Mississauga in the second round
