Students in Ontario are graduating High School at the highest rate ever, but students in the North are falling behind the provincial mark.

Students going to high school for four years graduated at over 79%  last year while those who went for five years are passing at 86.5%.

That’s way up from 2004 numbers where on average just over 60% of students were making it through high school.

Sudbury was 53rd in five-year graduation rates and below the provincial average for those graduating in four years.

Sudbury however was second highest in graduation percentage for Northern Ontario, behind only Thunder Bay.
