A wheelchair-bound Coldplay fan named Rob was crowd-surfing during the band’s sold-out concert in Dublin on Saturday night when Chris Martin noticed him and invited him onstage for an impromptu performance.

Rob tells BBC News:
“A lad accidentally fell on me and was extremely apologetic. He and his friends insisted on lifting me up and getting me a better view.”
Once Rob made his way to the stage, Martin improvised a song about the concertgoer and Dublin. He also had Rob play along on a harmonica:
“I had a once in a lifetime experience; 83,000 people cheering as I was in the middle. I got a glimpse of a celebrity life. The video has gone viral since and my phone hasn’t stopped. In a time where we have seen the horrors of London, Manchester and Paris, I hope this shows if you get yourself out there, you never know what’s going to happen. I would like to thank Chris for an amazing experience.”

On Monday’s episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, Ryan Seacrest announced the news that his ex-girlfriend Julianne Hough had married hockey player Brooks Laich in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, over the weekend. “I know this family, they are terrific people,” he sweetly said. “So congratulations, Julianne. Happy to see you happy!” Things took a hilarious turn, however, when Kelly Ripa insisted on asking Seacrest whether it was weird to see his ex get hitched. “No, I’ve got several exes that have gotten married. They’re all married,” he declared. “Then they start having kids… married, kids, one’s divorce. I’ve seen it all. Nothing phases me anymore.” Seacrest also held up a newspaper clipping that showed newlyweds Hough and Laich on a lake and quipped, “I’ve been on that lake!”

The family of Nelsan Ellis has released a statement about the late True Blood actor’s heart failure:

“Nelsan’s father has bravely agreed for me to share the circumstances of Nelsan’s heart failure. Nelsan has suffered with drug and alcohol abuse for years. After many stints in rehab, Nelsan attempted to withdraw from alcohol on his own. According to his father, during his withdrawal from alcohol he had a blood infection, his kidneys shut down, his liver was swollen, his blood pressure plummeted, and his dear sweet heart raced out of control.

On the morning of Saturday July 8th, after four days in Woodhull Hospital, Nelsan was pronounced dead. Nelsan was a gentle, generous and kind soul. He was a father, a son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, and a great friend to those that were lucky enough to know him. Nelsan was ashamed of his addiction and thus was reluctant to talk about it during his life. His family, however, believes that in death he would want his life to serve as a cautionary tale in an attempt to help others.”

Ellis died on July 8 at age 39.
