Ed Sheeran is headed to Springfield where he’ll guest star on a musical-theme episode of The Simpsons.

The Simpsons will be entering their 29th season and you can hear Ed on an episode called ‘Haw-Haw Land’.  Entertainment Weekly reports that will be a parody of La La Land, where he’ll be playing Brendan … and it just so happens, he’s Lisa’s type!

Executive producer Al Jean tells Entertainment Weekly, “He keeps alternating [between], ‘You’re not that great, but you could be fantastic,’ and she keeps falling for him because of his talent.  There’s actually a love triangle forming as well with Nelson, who tries to impress Lisa with his singing talent. How is Nelson’s voice? “Well, you’ll hear.  He sings ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’ with new lyrics, and he kind of bullies those notes.”

Al continues, “When Lisa meets Brendan, Milhouse comes in and he goes, ‘I’ve brought three kinds of waters — cold, warm, and lukewarm.  Lisa goes, ‘I’m not thirsty anymore,’ and ‘Milhouse goes, ‘Dammit!’ That’s the effect he has on somebody else…. The girls love him but he’s difficult.”

It’s been reported that Ed has been a longtime Simpsons fan and he even has a tattoo of Blinky, the show’s three-eyed fish.

“We had a perfect part for him.  So we said, ‘Oh, great, we’ll have him do this!’ And we recorded him over the phone from England,” says Al.

And just recently, Ed made an appearance on the season premier of Game of Thrones.
