OPP say a 25-year old woman from Sudbury was killed in a collision that shut down Highway 69 near the French River bridge for eight hours on Friday.

Police say the collision happened just after 3 pm when a northbound car crossed the centre line and side-swiped a southbound pick-up truck.

The car then kept going in the southbound lane and hit head on with a transport.

The female driver and lone occupant in the car, 25-year old Jillian Keast, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female and male from Greater Sudbury in the pick-up were not injured in the collision and neither was the tractor-trailer driver from Welland.

OPP say no charges will be laid.
