Sudbury’s unemployment rate fell in August after a slight increase in July.

According to Statistics Canada the local jobless rate fell to 6.4%  last month, down from 6.7 the month before.

It is now the lowest it has been since March 2015.

It has also been under 7% since March of this year.

Nationally the labour market posted it’s ninth straight month of job gains which lowered the unemployment rate to 6.2%.
