On Thursday in Massachusetts, carpenter Paul Vidich cashed a $389 paycheck, specifying that it be doled out in $1 bills.

He then walked to a busy intersection and threw the money into the air.

As the bills fell to the pavement, passersby scrambled to scoop it up.

Of his stunt, Vidich, who describes himself as “ridiculously frugal” and suffers from “money anxiety,” told MassLive, “I’m trying to show that money is ridiculous in all of these different ways.”

He then conceded, “I’m not sure if I really did that, but that was one of the original intents.”
