The Special Investigations Unit will not be charging a Sudbury Police officer after a 47-year old man was injured in April 2016.

Sudbury police were called to a disturbance at an apartment building that ended with the man in hospital diagnosed with cocaine psychosis, a fractured rib and a collapsed lung.

The SIU investigation states witnesses say the man was combative and aggressive and threatened to walk into oncoming traffic so police used force to restrain him.

None of the witnesses present saw any police officer, strike, kick or punch the complainant.
