Kevin Smith is recovering after suffering a  “massive heart attack” on Sunday night.

The 47-year-old film director, known for his work in “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” and “Mall Rats” shared the shocking news on Twitter. He posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed with the caption:

“After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”) If I hadn’t cancelled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!”

That same day, Smith did a stand-up comedy show. He had another show scheduled that night, that he had to cancel so he could go to the hospital.

Smith lost a lot of weight years ago after he was kicked off of a flight for being too large for one seat.
