The first snow day of the season as school buses have been cancelled for Greater Sudbury, Massey and Espanola districts.

The Sudbury Student Services Consortium made the call due to snowy and icy road conditions.

This includes all areas such as St-Charles, Noelville, Monetville, Markstay, Hagar, Warren, Wahnapitae, Coniston, Killarney, Whitefish, Whitefish River First Nations, Onaping, Chelmsford, Capreol, Valley East, Garson, Chelmsford and Azilda.

All schools will remain open and staff is expected to report to work.

Parents who drive their children to school are reminded to pick them up at the end of the school day.

School buses will be running on Manitoulin Island.
