If you watch Riverdale on a regular basis, you’re going to see a very familiar (and good looking) face come season three – The CW and Netflix hit just recruited Chad Michael Murray!

You might remember Chad – he was on One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek and he starred in some pretty sweet classics like A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff and alongside Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday.  Chad will play the character of a cult leader by the name of  Edgar Evernever and according to the character’s description, “As the enigmatic leader of the cult-like Farm, Edgar arrives in Riverdale to spread his teachings and heal the ravaged soul of this once wholesome town.  Edgar is a charming, handsome guru, but is he hiding a more sinister agenda?”

As Variety points out, “Edgar had been mentioned in the show previously, and his daughter Evelyn (Zoe De Grand Maison) was introduced as Betty’s classmate.  Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick), Better’s mother, ingratiated herself to Edgar and began following his teachings, despite Betty’s warning that the Farm sounded like the Heaven’s Gate cult in the 1970s. During a Farm ritual in Season’s 3 premiere, Betty has a seizure after twin babies were dropped into fire and floated in the air.”

And in case you were wondering, yes, Chad will indeed have a recurring role in the series!  Edgar is a name I’m sure you’re familiar with in the series because it’s been mentioned a dozen times so now the cat’s out of the bag and we now know, Chad is Edgar!
