11 year old Anderson Whitehead lost his mother to cancer in November. She promised her son she would do everything in her power to make sure he met his idol, Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price.

Anderson finally did get to meet Carey Price – a moment his mom never got to see.

During an all-star morning skate last week in Toronto, the two shared a touching moment that has gone viral on Facebook.

I wanted to share this video of my nephew Anderson, meeting his idol, Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens. Last year as Anderson’s mom was dying of cancer she promised she would do everything she could to make his dream come true. Unfortunately, she passed away before that could happen but through some very kind and generous friends we were able to arrange a visit to the morning skate. As you can see in the video, Carey Price was a class act not only giving Anderson two signed sticks, a signed puck, signing his jersey and mini stick but he also gave him the biggest hug. Words cannot describe how much this meant to Anderson and we are forever grateful to this wonderful man.

I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING!!

Price gave the crying boy a big hug before signing his jersey and mini stick and giving him two signed sticks and a signed puck.

Anderson said:
“I didn’t think somebody like that would sign my stick. I didn’t think he would have time for me. I broke into tears after he signed my stick. After, he gave me a big hug.”
