The numbers are in for our radio station food drive last weekend, and thanks to the Real Canadian Food Store on Lasalle and members of the Pee Wee Girls House League Hockey Teams, it was a record year.

Food Bank Executive Director Dan Xilon says store customers were very generous, and donated cash and food worth almost 12-thousand dollars.

Xilon says the success of the Hockey Fights Hunger campaign was due to the hockey players and their enthusiasm and commitment, and calls them terrific upcoming community leaders.

This is in comparison to last years event where the total collected of food value and cash donations was $3,658.00.
