Master Jenga Stacker Strikes Again

An Arizona man described by Guinness World Records as a “Master Jenga stacker” has managed to pile a whopping 485 blocks on top of just one of the game’s pieces, breaking his own record set last year. The impressive structure, which is shaped like an inverted pyramid, was built in two hours by Tai Star Valianti who said, “The tower stood for almost nine minutes before I got my son to come in and knock it down.” A Guinness spokesperson said, “The most incredible part of the tower is that as Tai builds, he expands it outwards from the single Jenga block giving it a physics-defying appearance. Surprisingly, the center remains hollow where the first standing Jenga block is placed.” Jenga’s creators say the record for the highest tower ever built is 41 stories, set by American Robert Grebler in 1985. There’s a YouTube video of the entire build if you’re interested.?

Starting next year, you’ll be able to start drinking out of a paper bottle thanks to a spirits industry first. Diageo-maker of such brands as Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, and Smirnoff, among others-has teamed up with venture management company Pilot Lite to launch Pulpex, a sustainable packaging company. One of Pulpex’s first missions: to offer Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky in a paper bottle that doesn’t use plastics. The newly formed firm will also create similar packaging in other categories, including for PepsiCo and Unilever, which makes Lipton iced tea. Diageo says it’s the first company to come up with a paper bottle for spirits that can be recycled. The bottle uses a spray coating to form a barrier so the liquid doesn’t seep out. “We are constantly striving to push the boundaries within sustainable packaging, and this bottle has the potential to be truly groundbreaking,” the company’s sustainability chief says.
