Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City is now in theatres.

The movie was shot mostly in Greater Sudbury with the fictional RPD headquarters in downtown Sudbury.

There were a number of closures while filming the movie in Sudbury, including one scene where a transport was safely flipped near the downtown fire hall.

The movie follows closely the first two Resident Evil video games and is a reboot of the popular franchise.

It stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Karmen, Robbie Amell and Tom Hopper and has three showtimes today at SilverCity Cinemas Sudbury at 4:15, 7:15 and 10:15 pm.

It is not recommended for children, but if you get the chance to see it, let us know your favourite scene and the areas of Sudbury you spot.
