Bad news for Sudbury sun seekers as Sunwing has pulled their sun destination flights out of Sudbury, North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie for the time being.

That means destination flights to Cuba and the Dominican will have to go out of Toronto taking out the convenience of flying from Sudbury to one of the destinations.

Greater Sudbury Airport CEO Todd Tripp says Sunwing is not to blame because the federal government has not approved airports in London and Windsor for International travel and those are the two airports the Sudbury flight will stop before heading south of the border.

Sunwing is open to restoring the flights once those airports do get clearance.
