Coldplay announced before their Music of the Spheres world tour that they had some very ambitious environmental goals and so far they’ve been responsible for planting 5 million trees. On top of that they are about to hit their goal of 50% carbon reduction from their previous tour.

In a press statement, the band said that while the numbers are a “good start… and something that their crew should be very proud of, “there is still room for improvement. “

They went on to explain that they now run the entire show… audio, lights, lasers, etc. from an electric battery system that allows them to use 100% renewable energy as efficiently as possible.
