Greater Sudbury Police are passing on a warning from the Canadian Center for Child Protection about a possible on-line threat.

Cybertip.ca has received several complaints from business across the country worried that the names of their companies have been used to lure youth for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

Detective Sgt. Blair Ramsay from the Sudbury Police Cyber Crime Unit says whoever is responsible is contacting teens through social media offering them jobs such as modelling.

There have been so such incidents reported locally, but Police say it’s a good opportunity to remind parents to have an open dialogue with their kids with the goal of making sure any offers are legitimate before they respond.

Parents and teens are also reminded to trust their….if anything seems weird or questionable pay attention to this warning signal.
