Your favourite Christmas movie memories have undergone a massive transformation. It’s the KiSS Holiday Film Festival with Science North – 5 seasonal favourites on the giant IMAX screen at Science North, featuring classics like Elf and Christmas Vacation. It’s holly-jolly fun for the whole family!

Bring the kids out Thursday to Sunday to see Polar express at 7PM. Then on November 25th see the holiday short The Light Before Christmas at 11:15am! Admission is only 6 dollars per person.

The Polar Express

A young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express. During his adventure he learns about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas. Showing at 7pm on November 23, 24, 25 and 26.

Elf

Buddy (Will Ferrell) was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. As it happens, this is Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a cynical businessman. After a DNA test proves this, Walter reluctantly attempts to start a relationship with the childlike Buddy with increasingly chaotic results. The Polar Express 3D

This holiday-themed film, based on the classic Caldecott medal-winning children’s book written by Chris Van Allsburg, is directed by Oscar® winner Robert Zemeckis and stars two-time Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks. Using state-of-the-art CGI and performance capture technology to create a unique blend of realism and fantasy, The Polar Express tells of a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. Showing at 10:45am on December 2nd AND at 7pm on November 23 – 26, December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and January 2-7.

The Light Before Christmas

After losing their way on a cold, blustery Christmas eve, two children, Katie and Makean are rescued by their friend, the Candleman, an old sage who imparts wisdom, hot chocolate, and stories. Opening a weathered book, he begins reading the classic tale, The Night Before Christmas. Magically, Katie and Make an become characters in the poem where they learn the light of Christmas comes from the giver of all good gifts. Showing at 11:15am on November 25, 26, December 9, 17, 23 and daily from December 27-January 7 AND at 2pm on December 31(except New Year’s Day).

Home Alone

An 8-year old troublemaker must protect his home from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation. Showing nightly at 7pm from December 7-10.
